I need help with my home page

    My home page is just literally all my posts. Like my whole posts are on the homepage from start to finish. I was hoping to have a home page where you have to click on a picture and then it takes you to the blog post. How do I do that? Please help me.

    Hi @jimbea,

    You can use the “More Tag” to truncate your post and show either the first few sentences, the first paragraph, or nothing at all if you wish.

    There are few ways you can insert a More Tag:
    – In your Visual Editor’s toolbar, there’s a button for it and you can click that
    – You can use the keyboard shortcut Alt + Shift + t
    – Or your HTML editor, you can add the following anywhere in your post: <!–more–>

    Any of these methods should get the job done. If it’s just a picture you want to display, then you would need first add a Featured Image to your post. Then add the More Tag above all your text in the post.

    Hello! I was hoping that it would only show the picture, the title and the excerpt. You would have to click on it it order to go to a new page and read the whole blog post. I am really confused as how to do that. Please help me. My site is jimbea.wordpress.com☺️

    As with most themes, the Featured Image of your post will automatically become a clickable link that will go directly to your blog post. When a featured image is not assigned, the next most available will be used.

    In regards to the excerpts, only themes that support excerpts will display them. Your site is currently using the Orvis Theme, which does not support excerpts. If interested in themes that do support this feature, please visit this link:
