  Hello,

  Thank you for your prompt response.
  We have the free version of wordpress and it’s not letting us install any theme or do any customisation work. We’re trying to purchase the most effective or cheapest version. So I get an upgraded hosting plan to complete the process of creating my website.

  In order to install themes or plugins on WordPress.com sites, you’ll need the Business or eCommerce plans. Themes/plugins cannot be uploaded to free sites.

  So I already paid for the domain. Do i need to pay for the Hosting ground / site?

  So we can install any theme or do any customization work on the domain now .Do I still need the upgraded hosting plan to complete the process of creating the website. Thanks

  Our actually needs hosting plan needs to be upgraded so we start custom design on it. We’re trying to upload a theme to work on it but it’s not letting us add it and asking for plan upgrade

  I need the most cost effective or cheapest hosting plan

  We have two ways to use a domain you already own with a site here at WordPress.com:

  Domain Connection allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

  A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  Using a third-party theme will require a paid Business or eCommerce plan: https://wordpress.com/support/themes/uploading-setting-up-custom-themes/

  With that said though, we have hundreds of themes available, no paid plan required: https://wordpress.com/themes
