I need input/advice – can wordpress handle a 20k member site?

  I am going to create a large member site. And I was thinking I would use either:
  – PHP Link Directory
  – Word Press
  – Or have someone code it from scratch

  Do you think WordPress can handle a member site with over 20 thousand people? I’m aware that I’d need a dedicated server. I’ve used Word Press for some of my sites but they are small (very small compared to what I want to do).

  I also want people to be able to log on and upload their heashots and have fields where people would put their hat size, waist size, glove, etc… I’m sure there must be a plug in for that and if you know of one – please let me know.

  My post somehow ends with word press stating on the bottom

  “The blog I need help with is thesoulsolution.wordpress.com.”

  This is untrue and I don’t know how or why wordpress added this to my post – but ignore that last line above. The help I need is for a future wordpress site “NOT The blog I need help with is thesoulsolution.wordpress.com.” Thanks
