I need my blog to have a different name from my log in name.
-
I don’t want the blog name to be the same as my log-in name. This blog is for my church, but because the church does not have an email address, I had to use my personal email address. I’d like to sever that connection so that when people look for the church online, they do not see any connection to me personally.
Also, I may want to start my own personal blog eventually, and do not want any connection between the two.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I think you can do this:
1) Create a new free WordPress.com using the church name.
2) Setup that new site and re-add the contents to look like the current http://leannelangblog.wordpress.com/ site
3) When step 2 is done and you are sure that the new site is complete, you can remove the contents and setup of the http://leannelangblog.wordpress.com/ site and use it for your personal blog.Alternatively, you can also just change the blog address: http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/ But if you do this, I’m not sure what will happen with the current ‘leannelangblog.wordpress.com’ address, perhaps it will not be usable again. Other users here might be able to explain more.

Thank you. I was trying to avoid having to set up another one – it took forever to get this one up and running. I do plan to pay to eliminate the ads, and also pay for the domain name, registration and mapping if that helps. I was hoping that once I get the domain name (of the church) registered, that mine would no longer show up, but it doesn’t say anywhere if this is the case or not.

So I think you can just change the blog address as mentioned here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
There, on point 6, you will be given the option to create a new username. I think you should do it. Create a specific username for your church’s needs, so it doesn’t have to be linked with your current username anymore.
You can register a separate account. You will need a separate email address to do this. If you create an additional username, both your current account and the new account will be added as administrators to the blog.
And then on point 7:
The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it.
That means you can choose to discard the ‘leannelangblog.wordpress.com’ address and it will no longer be usable. I think that matches your need.
Domain name, registration and mapping can then be done *after* you’ve done the blog address change steps above.
