I looked up your domain for you. It seems to be in the grace period for renewals. Are you not able to renew your domain in the My Domains page?
Here’s a support article that explains what happens when a domain expires:

I have already read that, I couldn’t afford to be raped by the $80 late fee so I was forced to cancel the domain. Now I want it back but wordpress are being awkward for the sake of it and not allowing me to take it back.

Not sure how the rest of us will be able to help, so I’ve tagged this topic for a Staff follow-up.
Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond, and please be patient while waiting. Most of the WordPress.com staff are away till September 24, so you might have to wait for them to get back.

Unfortunately, we no longer control the domain itfc81.com and cannot renew it for you. All of your content is still available through this URL: http://itfc81.wordpress.com/
We attempted to inform your domain’s expiration (via email and dashboard notices). It was possible to recover the domain for some weeks after its expiration, but because it was canceled, the domain was sent back to the registrar who will release it only at their discretion. This can usually take up to 30 days from cancelation, provided that they do not sell it to another owner meanwhile via a backorder or auction.
This support article describes the expiration process in detail, if you are interested:
I am sorry I was not able to help you more in this case.

I probably would have renewed had the emails explained that wordpress were going to charge me so much to renew after the expiration date. I then couldn’t afford the fee as I explained earlier.
Who is the registrar?

If it helps, you could wait for the domain to drop from the registrar, before attempting to register it again. This could take around 30-90 days, depending on how long the registrar might want to hold on to it.
Here’s a Wikipedia article that explains the process:
