I need my domain name back

    I created a wp.com premium account and registered the domain name that I want. Unfortunately I realized that I couldn’t do what I wanted with wp.com, so deleted my account for a full refund in order to open a wp.org account. I didn’t realize that my domain name would be unavailable for a whole year if i cancelled it. Is there a way to get it back sooner? I registered it then cancelled it within hours of each other.

    Help would be very much appreciated.

    sometimes the staff can retrieve it before it is sent back to the wild – it usually takes a couple of weeks to be released – however a registrar is not obligated to release the name and a domain squatter might pick it up or someone might just like the name

    What is the custom domain name you need retrieved?

    Hi @lancasterwind , actually it won’t be a whole year. Usually they’ll release the domain name within about 5 business days, so long as you’ve cancelled within the first 48 hours.
