I need my essay removed from someone else’s blog, but the publisher is dead.
-
Hi.
Thank you to whoever is reading this. I need some help.
A few years ago I submitted an essay for publication to someone else’s wordpress.com blog. They agreed, and published it. The essay has some mature content in it and is published under my real name.
I have contacted the publisher numerous times with no response. After some internet sleuthing about the publisher, it turns out he died in 2023. All of his blogs/email/social media accounts appear to be inactive.
What should I do? The sector that I work in now cares about this sort of thing, and I need to get the essay removed. WordPress.com support is pretty unhelpful, the AI assistant told me to either contact the original publisher (dead) or file a DMCA report. I don’t want to file a DMCA report on a dead man’s blog. He was clearly passionate about what he did and it seems plain wrong. I also don’t even know if I have the valid legal ground to file a DMCA.
I need to get this essay deleted. Can anyone help me?
Thanks.
