I need my new email to match my wordpress the old account was hacked and is gone.

  I need my new email to match my wordpress the old email account was hacked and is gone. when i put in my new user name, karenshawstar, it says that user name is used. how am I supposed to change the email to the new one if it saying the user name is used??. doesnt make sense.

  Hi there, if you own that other WPcom account, you need to first log out of this account you are using to post to the forums and then log back in with the correct user details. When logging in you can use your username in place of your email address. If you don’t remember the password to that other account, as you said you no longer have access to the email account, you’ll need to recover your account following this support guide https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

  Give the account recovery team as much information as possible, including the old email address that was associated with the other account.
