I need some advice about Andreas04 top of page navigation
-
I’m pleased with Andreas04 in most respects, but the top of page navigation has been temperamental to some of my readers. When using the top bar navigation to select a page to view, some of my readers have encountered large “boxes” that highlight the page names. These boxes make it very hard to select and click the desired page. The result is that people end up at a page they didn’t mean to view.
To address the problem I’ve added a page links widget in the descending side bar on the right hand side of my blog, but was hoping to resolve the navigation quirkiness at the top of the page somehow. Any suggestions?

Apparently that’s the way the theme is designed (checked it in three different browsers), so it will only accomodate one row of header tabs (several themes have this limitation). You could consider turning some pages into “child” pages: only parent pages show in the sidebar. (For one thing, you definitely don’t need the About tab, as the about page is on permanent display in your sidebar.) Or you could combine the content of some pages into a single page with separate sections. Or you could switch to Andreas09.

Correction: “only parent pages show in the sidebar” should read “only parent pages show in the HEADER”.

Thanks for taking a bit of time to consider the problem. It’s a wonky aspect of the design, but overall our project has been very glad for the layout. I’ll be sure to take a look at Andreas09 as a possible alternative, or work with parent/child page settings to see if that can make a difference. Thanks again!
