I need support for an error I’m getting in Theme Editor editing a .php

Getting this error trying to update header.php in my theme (advance blogging): Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.

What is the wordpress site link that you need help in?

I was able to edit my header.php locally (after creating a backup of course) to include the code and then upload it into my files dashboard which avoided the issue. However, I still do not understand why I was not able to edit it in the WordPress Theme Editor. But as far as my site is concerned, I’m good.
My issue is now with the mobile optimization which is within the slider plugin, not WordPress, I don’t believe. (Noting here since you may look at my site on your mobile.) https://lifeafterhitech.com

  • Hello there,

Bear in mind these forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only and yours is hosted at Blue Host, that means you are using the self hosted version of WordPress.
You can find help in the WordPresss.org Forum

More about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org (self hosted version) here.

    Cheers.
