I need the menue of my site visible like all people have on websites
-
Please give me to steps to follow. I am already exhausted. I employed a computer programmer and look what he did: the menu is hidden and not all is there. He had no idea how to make the menu visible, preferably on the top. How am I supposed to know it? Please give me the steps, very clearly.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
The menu is hidden behind a link on many new themes. See here https://wordpress.com/themes/intergalactic/
-
Go to the live demo site at https://intergalacticdemo.wordpress.com/ and take note that the menus is hidden behind a menu link there.
The way any theme is designed to function cannot be changed. We can make appearance changes only if we have the required CSS editing upgrade.

If you want a visible menu change themes.
re: switching themes
Note that switching themes https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do a lot of work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme with different features and/or if you have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

Here are some free themes with visible menu links:

@BozenaSawa
Hi TimeThief, Thanks. Your explanation is very clear. But as the 1st time site builder it would take me a long time to follow all the steps you have given me. And I am so pressed for time now. And a friend abroad can do it for me easily. So before I start a huge (for me) effort of building the site by myself, please tell me if there is any way I could use the site he will have built.
He was planning to give it, of course, a slightly different name.
namely BozenaSawaArt.wordpress.com
The site would have a different email address
And a different password (wordpress did all to prevent me from giving him my wordpress password. Who knows maybe it is for the best).
Is there any way to replace my current site with the one he is still (hopefully) building ?
I mean: Could I– after getting this NEW site– delete the present one and just keep the NEW ONE he is building?
People often employ programmers abroad (and that’s my case here). Do they all give their programmers their passwords? Probably not. So how does it work for them?
If such a switch is possible I would PREFER to keep the current name of my site bozenasawa.wordpress but if that’s impossible I could live with bozenasawaart.wordpress
However, I want to keep my current gmail email address because it is already connected with PayPal and my crowdfunding campaign.
I hope you or somebody else will advise me if and how such a switch can be done. Yes, of course, once I get hold of the NEW site I would immediately delete the current site. -
I see that you have multiple threads here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/bozenasawa and Staff are already helping you so I will tag this thread for their help too.
-
I will save and keep your advice for the future when I am definitely going to use it. But this time I am so tremendously busy and so much behind schedule with work that I would love to USE what a friend already did or will have done– a brand new site (simple but complete with menu visible on top). (Unless…he already deleted but I hope not).
He started working on my NEW site not realizing that I want to keep the name bozenasawa.wordpress, nothing else.
He also started thinking that I would give him my password. And I actually did ….but it did not work for him, he was enable to enter my site. He assumed it was because I have an Apple laptop and he uses Windows and my password had some symbols which look differently in Windows. Maybe. I am the last person to know.
Later on I tried to change my password repeatedly and could not save it ONCE. In other words I could not change it for an easier password without symbols. I guess WordPress cares so much about my security.
Anyway, is it the path I can use? -
Hi there,
I’ve already told you how to change your password in the other thread. If you choose a password that’s too easy you won’t be able to save it, as we deliberately block commonly used passwords on WordPress.com.

I’m closing this thread as a duplicate of https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/i-have-your-free-website-blog-bozenasawawordpresscom
Please try to stick to one thread as you make it very difficult to help you if you ask the same questions in multiple threads.
