How do I add a custom meta tag to my blog?

  • Unknown's avatar

I would like to add a facebook meta tag in order to get insight on this website from my facebook page dashboard.
    Blog url: http://xhyra.wordpress.com/

And if you cannot do it I will need to transfer my domain to a self hosted site. So, I will need to know how to do this also.

I’m sorry to say that it’s not possible to add custom metatags to your WordPress.com blog at this time.

We’d be really sad to see you go, but, this page would help you move over to a WordPress.org self-hosted blog. Let us know if you get stuck.

Sigh… what about the google, yahoo, etc. metatags?

But OK thanks for the link.

    1. What I mean is that you currently allow google & yahoo metatags, why not facebook?

    2. The link does not work and just to be sure for when you correct the link-what I would need is to be able to get the domain name I got through wordpress to point to my new self hosted blog.

I know how to export the blog.

My apologies, I’ve corrected the link above.

In order to point your domain to your hosting you just need to change the nameservers to point to your new host (they’ll be able to tell you which nameservers you need). The instructions are here. (I promise the link works this time!)

You’re right that we’ve only chosen to allow Google, Yahoo, and Bing at this time as these were the most popular requests, but I won’t rule out us adding other options (but I can’t make any guarantees I’m afraid).

OK thanks for the link and your replies.
