Hi there,
You can allow comments in posts as well in pages. Surely this will clarify you:

Hope this can help you.

Go to

Go to https://nivedithasubburaman.wordpress.com/2017/04/19/first-blog-post/ and scroll to the end of the post. Comments are open.By default all WordPress blogs have open comments on all pages and posts. Unless we use the P2 theme or P2 breathe theme which are Twitter-like theme the front pages of our blogs showcase content and comments are collapsed on that page and you cannot change this. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress. By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display.
In a new blog one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat and page loading time is a page ranking factor. We have only seconds before visitors refuse to wait and click out.
You can enable and disable comments on WordPress.com blogs on this page Dashboard > Settings > Discussion
That is where you set up defaults for comments and other comment options http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/Enable and Disable Comments for Published Posts and Pages
