I need to cancel an old domain.

    I need to cancel an old domain I purchased through wordpress.com I no longer use the domain and it is expired. I do not plan on renewing it so I just want to get rid of it but it is not letting me and saying that I am unable to do so because it was registered from somewhere outside of wordpress. This makes no sense to me since I purchased it through wordpress. SUPER ANNOYING, please help me.
