I need to cancel Siteground for hosting but need to confirm something

I need to cancel Siteground for hosting but need to confirm that this URL will remain to be hosted by wordpress.com??
https://www.endlesshairextensions.com (currently hosted by Siteground)
https://wordpress.com/view/www.endlesshairextensions.com( hosted by wordpress.com??)What will happen to my woocommerce subscription, products and blog posts?
-
Hi –
The domain looks to be registered at 1&1 not WordPress.com. You need to contact them directly about the domain registration. Generally speaking, your hosting and your domain registration are 2 separate things, but both required to have a functioning site.
-
HI! and thank you for your reply. I do understand what you said but I don’t understand the appearance of ‘2’ sites under my domain name.
Is this one (https://wordpress.com/view/www.endlesshairextensions.com)the subdomain? If yes, can woocommerce run with it? -
That is essentially the same site. It’s connected to your WordPress.com account by way of the Jetpack plugin, that’s all.
It’s fully hosted by Siteground, not us. If you cancel with Siteground, the site will be gone for good.
If you’d like to host the site with us instead, please follow this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/

HI, and thank you!
I am going to work on having my current Siteground WP site hosted by WP but is there a way to import all the images as well? Or do they have to be done manually?Jen
-
HI, sorry another question:) because I’m still a bit confused: Can I have woo-commerce on my WP hosted by you?
-
Hi Jen,
I am going to work on having my current Siteground WP site hosted by WP but is there a way to import all the images as well?
When you import your site here on WordPress.com all your media files (images, audio, etc.) will be transferred as well. Please note that this requires for your WordPress site hosted by Siteground to remain online for our importer to automatically pull the images. Otherwise, you’ll have to manually upload them and re-attach them to your posts and pages.
Can I have woo-commerce on my WP hosted by you?
Yes, you can. WooCommerce is a plugin and therefore you’ll need to upgrade to our Business or eCommerce plan to install it.
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
-
Thank you so much for this! Can you send me the appropriate link for importing my site over?
-
You’ll need to create a WordPress.com site first, without it there is no direct link we can give you. On your WordPress.com account click on My Site>Add a new site.
Once you’ve created one, you’ll be able to follow the instructions from here: -
Ok, great. I’m just about ready to migrate over but have one question about the backlinks that are part of my current WP site.
Can I redirect them to my new WP site?
Using a redirect plugin or something?Jen
-
Can you share a post or page that has a backlink so I can have a look and suggest you a solution?
-
Okay so, it looks like you’re going to move a site with an online store, is that correct?
For that, you’d need a plugin, like WooCommerce and plugins are available on plan Business or eCommerce. With that, you’ll also be able to import your products and, if needed, you’ll probably find a plugin to replace the links automatically.
Otherwise, the images that links to your products will need to be replaced manually. -
Thank you for your reply. I’m not interested in running the site as an eCommerce actually at this point. I was hoping for a place for my site to be while I consider how I want to run it.
Not sure of the backlinks though. -
I see, so those links would just point to your self-hosted site? Or you’re not sure yet what to do with these?
As mentioned, if you’d like them to point somewhere else, you’ll need to change them manually or search for a plugin that would help with that. -
-
We can do a site direct for a domain to one link. We wouldn’t be able to do redirects for multiple pages like that unless you have an outside plugin handling that. You would need a business plan for that.

Here you can see more information about it:
https://wordpress.com/support/site-redirect/
But from what you told us, it doesn’t really sound like that’s what you need. Like @supernovia mentioned, you’ll want to upgrade to Business and use redirect plugins if you don’t want to change those manually.
