I need to change currency from TL to GBP please
-
Hi, I’ve just logged into my account as I’m thinking of transferring my hosting to wordpress, but it’s showing in TL instead of GBP. Are you able to change that please. I also need some advice on how to migrate my current site, which is a wordpress site, from February next year, and also set up a new domain on wordpress.com for a new business. Not sure whether to go for business or commerce. My exiting site (migrate feb) is for a virtual assistant business, no online purchasing needed just online chat plugin (tidio). My new site will need a scheduling tool where people can book and pay for services on line for a pet transport/services business. Please advise. freelanceofficeservices.co.uk (hosted on lcn.com want to migrate from feb) & muttmeisters.co.uk (not yet hosted want to host right away). Please advise. thanks, Anne

Hello @annethedonn,
Thanks for your interest in WordPress.com hosting, we greatly appreciate it.I have updated the account currency to GBP, could you please reload the page and confirm if you see the updated currency?

Are you planning to migrate your existing site now, or are you considering doing it next February? If you’d like to proceed with the migration now, we’re currently offering a free migration service for a limited time, which you can take advantage of. However, if you prefer to wait until February, that’s perfectly fine too, as I understand your current hosting is valid until then. In that case, you can easily migrate your site using the Migrate Guru Plugin as described here.

WordPress.com Business plan is suitable for both the sites. You can use WooCommerce on the second site muttmeisters.co.uk for eCommerce capabilities and use WooCommerce addons for scheduling feature.
I hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions, as we would be happy to further assist you.

Hi thanks for your reply, yes it’s updated, why is it so much more for the UK? I converted TL to £ before and it worked out at £129.96/year, but since you’ve updated it’s now £250? That’s quite a big difference almost twice the amount if I bought in TL! Much more than I’m paying now which is £127 hence migrating to WP seemed good value. Is there anything you can do on the price? Seems unfair to penalise me because I’m in the UK!

Hi there,
We’ve explicitly set prices for each country and currency. I’ve changed your account back to use TL currency. You can check here the pricing for that currency. Paying annually will be cheaper than monthly billing. You can change the billing on the linked page to review the prices between monthly and annual.
We don’t include email hosting without plans, but we do offer an affordable add-on email hosting called “Professional Email,” and you can get the first three months for free. Check it out at https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/adding-professional-email-to-your-site/get-started-with-professional-email/

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I don’t really want it in TL as I’m no longer living in Turkey, and it makes it difficult for accounting purposes as I live in the UK my business deals in sterling so I need it to be in GBP so not sure why you would change it back to TL, so could you keep it in GBP please. I have to say the prices in Turkey for services when I was living there isn’t that different to the UK so not sure why they’re half the price, in fact on some things it’s more expensive.
I won’t migrate my existing hosting just yet, as I’ve still got 6 months to go. I would rather get my new business site up first. But I need to know if you get email addresses in the business hosting as it’s not clear. I would require no more than 3 to 5 per domain. Also how many domains can I host for this annual fee will there be extra charges for more than one?
thanks

OK re: emails you’ve already replied. Again not clear how many. I think I will have to pass as I get all this and emails included with my existing WP host provider for £126/year so it’s a no brainer. thanks anyway
