I need to change my DNS.. URGENT

  I am stuck into a complicated situation right now, my website, esponential.com was first a part of wordpress.com domain site, but this year in march I upgraded to a self-hosted domain server at hostgator.com and began operating on wordpress.org. My wordpress.com site was supposed to expire this October but my hostgator server still remains, but still I am not able to log-in and the website is not even opening since October. I contacted hostgator support and they told me my domain is registered with Wildwestdomains and I need to change my nameserver and point it back to the hostgator servers, I later contacted Wildwestdomains and they told me that I need to refer to wordpress.com regarding this issue. I don’t have any access to my wordpress.org account, the website has become private and I can’t even log-in so I can’t possibly change my DNS . The situation is getting really desperate. PLEASE HELP!

  Hi Rutvik,

  When you moved your site over to Hostgator, while the nameservers were changed, the domain’s registration was still with WordPress.com. It appears that the domain expired on October 13th, which is why the site is now not accessible.

  You can renew it via the site’s old WordPress.com dashboard at https://esponential.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades . There should have been a few different e-mails about it go out to the address on file at WordPress.com prior to the expiration.

  Since it is past the two-week grace period, there is a late fee that is imposed by our domain provider that we pass on without additional charge. Soon, the domain provider will put the domain name up to auction and once a bid has been placed on it, we may not be able to get it back (more about the domain expiration process can be found at Domain Expiration

  But I already have a purchased .com domain at hostgator, all I need to do is change my name-servers to those that hostgator provided me with. Since my wordpress.com domain is registered with wordpress.com is hosted at wildwestdomains.com, I need to log-in to the domain settings on wildwestdomains to be able to change my nameservers! Help me out on that please.

  Hi Rutvik,

  The domain esponential.com was purchased through WordPress.com (which we use Wild West Domains to provide our domain services) and is still registered here according to the public domain database.

  When purchasing your services at Hostgator, if you transferred a domain name, it apparently didn’t occur and you should contact them asking about why the transfer didn’t occur. If you purchased hosting (an account where the files, databases, etc that power your site), it may or may not included a domain.

  In either case, the domain is expired (according to our records and the WHOIS database https://who.securepaynet.net/whois.aspx?domain=esponential.com&prog_id=391143 )and must be renewed. It can be renewed at this link: https://esponential.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

  For instructions on how to change nameservers, you can visit our link at change name servers; however, the domain is expired so this option is not available until renewed.
