I need to change the A Record on govindwakhlu.com

  I have tried pointing my domain to my other hosting (GoDaddy). But while the nameservers have been changed, the IP Address or A Record is not pointing to the right place. How can I change this? It is not showing up on my dashboard.

  I would appreciate your immediate attention to the matter. FYI I had purchased my domain through you, and so I assume I have what you call a “Custom Domain”.

  Hi there!

  You can update your A Records by following these directions:

  Point a Domain to an External IP Address

  Please note that DNS changes usually take several hours to fully take effect (and theoretically can take up to 72 hours).

  Hi Shawna,

  I updated my A record using your method 5 odd days ago. However, the method is not working, and it is not pointing to the correct IP as you can see http://who.is/dns/govindwakhlu.com.

  Where is the problem? I’m really regretting having purchased the domain from wordpress to be honest. Its not supposed to be this hard!

  I’m sorry this hasn’t worked for you. Can you give me the information from your new host so I can check your records and try to find where the error is happening here?

  You also have the option to transfer your domain to another registrar. If you’re interested in that here’s a guide on how to do it on our end:

  Thanks for sending me that email! I do see what you mean.

  By changing your name servers, you make it so that your DNS records are handled by another host. To make changes to your A record, you’ll either need to change your name servers back to WordPress.com or you’ll need to make the change with GoDaddy.

  I think in this case the first option will work for you. Just change your name servers to WordPress.com’s and save your changes. Then make sure that your A record is correct in the DNS settings tab.
