I need to change the MX records
-
I am not getting email. Go Daddy said I need to change the MX records. They gave me the information. Can you tell me how to get to the MX records? I already made the purchase and paid for it. I don’t want to do that again.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Julie,
You can add them via the Store->Domains->Edit DNS link in your site’s dashboard (a direct link: https://followhislight.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains&action=dnsedit&domain=juliegarro.com )
Please remove the current line (starting with MX) and then you can add the records there.
If you’d like, I’m happy to help too. What are the MX records given to you by GoDaddy?
Cheers!

Hi there. This is what I was given.
(1) mailstore1.secureserver.net
(2) smtp.secureserver.netGo Daddy said it would be better to point the A records at Word Press so that Go Daddy still had control of my email and could support me. Does that make sense? Thank you.

Hi,
I’ve made the change for you; you can see this yourself (and edit them) via the Store->Domains->Edit DNS link direct link at https://followhislight.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains&action=dnsedit&domain=juliegarro.com
You can read up more about how we set MX records, through our support document at Add Email.
I disagree with GoDaddy’s assessment regarding where your nameservers should point. Your MX records will remain the same far longer than the A records used by WordPress.com. To ensure your site loads quickly for everyone, no matter if a server or two fails, we actually change what A records would be needed
(as we expand to new datacenters, bring new servers online, etc).Your e-mail should start working anytime now. If you have any questions, please let me know. Hope you had a great weekend. Cheers!
