I need to change the name of a category slug

  How do I change the name of a category slug? Right now, the “Podcast” category has the slug “podcast-2.” This means that when I look at media settings under podcasting, my podcast link is incorrectly displayed as http://revcollins.com/category/podcast/feed/. When it should be http://revcollins.com/category/podcast-2/feed/. I would like to either change what displays (I’m afraid I’ll forget) or change the slug.

  Hi John,

  Your “Podcast” category has the slug “podcast-2” because you also have a “podcast” tag with the slug “podcast.” Categories and tags need unique slugs, so whichever one is added second gets the “-2” added to its slug.

  You can change the category slug by deleting or renaming your “podcast” tag. That will free up the “podcast” slug, so when you edit and resave the “Podcast” category it will update to have the “podcast” slug.
