I need to delete a blog from my old wordpress site that’s linked to my new site
-
Hi I changed my site from .net to .com 6 yrs ago and I don’t have access to old email and can’t remember old p/word. I need to delete a blog permanently…. how can I do this? I can’t find any confirmation that this was my domain name previously
-
Hi @simonneleeofficial, is there any way you could get access to the email, or try to remember your login information? We would need some sort of proof the site is yours. Here are several options:

I’ve tried that – haven’t used that email or site for over 8yrs now – a client is wanting a blog about her removed…
I am with Hostgator for my current site and they have my details as Simonnelee.net still – BUT NO EMAIL OR PASSWORDS to the old site is held.
Any other suggestions – would my client complaining to you guys be enough for this to be removed?
It has a photo of her and her full name – she wants this GONE!
Thanks for assistance but I’ve been through that on your site…
IS THERE ANYONE I CAN TALK TO – it’s very hard to have a live chat with you guys!

If there is personal information of your client on the site, she can try reporting it as explained at https://en.support.wordpress.com/report-blogs/ and our terms of service team will review it, but I cannot make any promises that the content will be removed.
But we cannot give you access to the site or delete it at your request without verification that you own that WordPress.com account.

I understand that…
Are there any other suggestions of how I can find previous ownership of domain name – simonnelee.net?
I’ve tried looking at ownership history but it’s not coming up and someone else has purchased my old domain name (even though it’s my name)??
What about that all my blogs from simonnelee.net are now on my current site for simonnelee.com?
Does that make a difference?
I can prove ownership of simonnelee.com -

The domain, simonnelee.net, has never been hosted with us on WordPress.com. Our replies here have been based on the assumption that you’re speaking of a WordPress.com site, but simonnelee.net is not a WordPress.com site, and we have never had any control over that domain or the content on it.

Having the name, “Simonne Lee”, unfortunately does not give you any claim of ownership over any domain containing that name. A domain is only yours for as long as you keep on paying for it. If you used to own simonnelee.net, but cancelled it or allowed it to expire, in so doing you gave up ownership of that domain, and whoever bought it since then are now the legal owner of that domain.
Likewise ownership of simonnelee.com also does not give you any claim over simonnelee.net
You might still be able to get content removed from that site, but it sounds like you no longer own this domain, meaning you also won’t be able to gain access to the hosting account that owns it, as that account belongs to someone else.
You might still be able to get personal information removed, but for that you’ll need to contact the current hosting provider of the site, which in this case is OVH.com.

I do understand….
I still have emails from you when i first became a member under my old domain name (email visible only to moderators and staff) – simonnelee.net
The passwords are in ****** so I can’t read them – I have quite a few emails from you guys – can I forward them to you somehow?
-
-
I can screenshot many emails received from you to (email visible only to moderators and staff) but don’t know how to attach them
-
If you’ve got the very first emails we sent, one of them should have an activation key, and you can use that to regain access:
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
-
is there anyway I can screenshot and send you the email as I don’t know what I’m looking for?

And the email also contains the admin username, correct? If so, that’s an account registration email sent by the open source WordPress software installed on a stand-alone WordPress site. On WordPress.com we do not send an email like that.
Can you please answer staff-blorbo’s question above? What is the FROM address you’ve received those emails from? You replied with your own address at which you received them, but we need to know the address they were sent FROM.
If that address is @wordpress.com, then the emails are from us. If they’re wordpress@, followed by a different domain, those emails are not from us, but from the site that appears after @ in the email address.
As I said above, the site that currently appears at simonnelee.net is hosted at OVH.com, and only they have the ability to give you access to that site and/or remove content from it.
Even if simonnelee.net was hosted with us in the past (which I am 100% certain is not the case), it is not hosted with us NOW, so we don’t have any control over it, and cannot help you gain access to or remove any content from it.

it’s the same email address notifying me that you’re responded to my questions on this forum

Okay, that email is from 2010. We no longer send that particular email on WordPress.com.
The email address at which you got that is associated with a different WordPress.com account. If you want to regain access to that WordPress.com account, you’ll need to follow our account recovery process that has been linked to above.
But that WordPress.com account has nothing at all to do with the site at simonnelee.net that you’re trying to access. simonnelee.net has never been hosted with or connected to WordPress.com in any way, and is currently hosted with OVH, as I said above, and only they can help you access or remove content from that site.
An Akismet API key is used to use the Akismet anti-spam plugin on a self-hosted WordPress site. It cannot be used for account recovery purposes.

API keys for any service should never be posted publicly, so I’ve removed those from your reply above.
You can see the username for the old WordPress.com account in that email, but that won’t help you access the site you want to remove content from.
