I need to delete a wordpress site

I have created a new wordpress site and it’s now running perfectly. Unfortunately my predecessor created a wp.com site and I need to delete it. Alas, I can only do this with her login and password, which I don’t have nor will get. My companies director wants it removing and she has all the credentials but also no login or password info.
I can provide her name and phone number which is on the offending site.Could you please provide information to assist, Andrew

I guess your predecessor still have the email address used to create the site you want to delete?
She can can get a new password by providing the email address to the account that have the site here:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
After which she can provide you with the details to delete the site.

Thanks for quick response. Paula (predecessor) was doing volunteer work for our non-profit unfortunately we have no way of connecting with her. The site has Susan (director) as the only contact along with her name, phone and email. Susan has no knowledge of the Paulas email or login credentials. We could just ignore this but with our new site just being set up, the old site is showing when we google our name.

If your organization no longer has the relevant account log in information for the account that registered the WordPressdotcom site, you will need to fill out the account recovery form here https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form and provide Staff with the necessary proof of ownership.
If you don’t have any of those proofs, then it will not be possible to recover the account or delete the site.

I have looked at the account recovery information. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything for the Proof of Ownership but the Directors email, phone number and her credentials will hopefully suffice. All these are noted in Contacts on the website. We will submit this information on Monday when back in the office.

Your original post doesn’t say which site you need help with. Can you confirm the URL of the site you are referring to?
As @justjennifer mentioned, without access to the email address for the account or proof of ownership, we won’t be able to help you access the account. I know you said you aren’t in contact with Paula but if you are unable to fill out the Account Recovery form, this may be the only option for deleting the site.

On Monday we filled out an Account Recovery form. The site URL is:
https://beaufortassociation.wordpress.com/about/
This link shows Susan’s name along with her email and phone number. Susan is the Director of Beaufort Association, however she doesn’t have any of the requirements for the Account Recovery form. She explained this in the comments section. To submit the form she had to falsely check one of the tick boxes and put n/a in the textbox. -
