I need to delete a comment from another blog which was made when I linked to it. This is of a very sensitive nature. Please contact me directly on (email visible only to moderators and staff) to help.

I think you’re referring to a pingback. If you’re an administrator of a website, you may delete any comment including a pingback, regardless of where it came from. See the Manage Comments, and Trash support pages.
If the pingback you refer to is on the other blog, then only an administrator of that site will be able to trash/delete it.

You should contact the other blog owner and ask them to remove the comment / link back
The staff have in the past not removed content from blogs that are not owned by you – i.e. the other blog owner has control of the content – most blog owners will delete a comment you made

Yes thanks – it is a pingback. Unfortunately not able to contact the other blog admin as too sensitive. Still waiting for wordpress admin please.

You do not have to approve any pingbacks. Delete it because Staff are not going to do this for you. https://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/pingbacks/

Aha! Now I get what you did. You are on the front line. You have to ask the other bloggers to delete your pingback and you have to remove the link from the post that generated it. Staff will not do this for you.

Thanks timethief. I want to delete the pingback on the other person’s blog. I linked to his blog on my post and that has created the pingback on his blog. I have since removed the link from my blog but the pingback (Comment) on his blog remains from me – that is what I want to delete. Any ideas? Thanks

1. You cannot delete it.
2. The other blogger can delete it.
3. Staff will not delete it for you.
4. You have to contact the other blogger and request deletion.
5. They do not have to agree to delete the pingback. -
ok thanks – the other blogger is not going to agree to that so I guess I just need to start a whole new blog :-( Today has been a very learning experience.

Okay. All blogs are independent websites and what you do on one has no affect on any other blogs.
To delete a WordPress.COM hosted blog you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to navigate to Dashboard > Tools > Delete Site.

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

Why? Have you ask them politely to delete the comment? Or did you take a bad shot at them so they are upset at what you did?
