    Hi @distilledream!

I checked your site http://christianpulla.com at this WHOIS link and it appears that you are hosted with WordPress.org site at BlueHost:

    ns1.bluehost.com
    ns2.bluehost.com

This is a forum for WordPress.com, the differences with .com and .org can be seen here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

For the JetPack module you should be able to log into the back end of your system and go to Plugins, then check the box off next to JetPack and select to deactivate it across the top (or click deactivate under it). If this does not work you can reach out at the WordPress.org support forum here:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    Good luck! :)

  • Howdy –

distilledream, please confirm which site you’re working on.

I’m not sure what jet-pack does, but when is active it doesn’t allow me to make any updates, everytime I tried to edit or use the dashboard, I keep getting a 500 error. What I found out is that blue-host allows me to turn off wordpress plug-ins from their site, so once I turned off jet-pack, things worked. Not sure why jet-pack messes up my availability to edit.

Good to hear that Bluehost was able to help you get back into your site! What is most likely happening is a plugin confliction; a different plugin that you have installed on the site conflicts with Jetpack when it is active causing the error.

I’m not sure what jet-pack does

You can learn more about Jetpack here:

    About Jetpack

It is a very good plugin for tracking items and working with statistics in WordPress, along with other amazing things :)

Should you want to keep Jetpack after learning more about it, you can try the following troubleshooting steps –

    1) Disable all of the plugins

    2) Activate Jetpack by itself

    3) Enable the other plugins one at a time until you see the error come up.

The last plugin that was activated when the error comes up is the one that is causing the confliction. Bluehost should be able to help you out in getting both of them to work so that the site does not error out.

If you have specific questions about Jetpack can also get its support here:

Good luck and happy WordPressing! :)

  • Hi all :)
