I need to fix or cancel my mapping
-
I understood that “mapping” a blog, will redirect the traffic of my “old free blog” themulticulturalmom.wordpress.com to my new one, themulticulturalmom.com. But after buying the mapping, changed DNS on my host settings and all, I realize that my old blog was being displayed in my paid domain (and my settings and new post where gone). So, I deleted the DNS on host and keep theirs and now it’s back to normal and redirection from old blog is kind of working. The thing is, and old post will redirect to my new homepage, not to the same post but in the new server. How can I fix this? Is it part of the mapping or do I have to buy something else?? Thanks!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

it takes 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet – during that time access to your blog will be erratic and you will also be the last one to see the changes
If you did not change the setting when you did the mapping to have themulticulturalmom.com as “Primary” – traffic will still go to the correct URL but you will not see themulticulturalmom.com in the address bar of your browser

Hi there,
@auxclass is correct
You may not have seen your WordPress.com site when typing in your new custom domain it does take up to 72 hours for propagation to occur throughout the internet. So, you may have changed your DNS settings back to quickly.
Also, as @auxclass stated, make sure that your custom domain themulticulturalmom.com and not your WordPress.com domain themulticulturalmom.wordpress.com was set as your primary domain.
If you try to point the nameservers over again, let us know if you have any luck with the given instructions. Thanks!

1. My primary domain was/still is themulticulturalmom.com
2. I changed the DNS on the 31st. of december and changed back on the 3rd of January (when I posted this question).Without the DNS:
1. Any link to my posts founded on google will redirect to my new site, but to the main page, not to the post itself.
My question now is, if I change the DNS back to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM, NS2…etc., does the old post A will redirect to the same new post A, even when they don’t have the same permalink structure? i guess not, but that is really what I won’t.
True to be told, I only have 3 post in the old blog.wordpress.com, I don’t want to loose the hits on that posts because they are very well positioned on google searchs but if there is such a big trouble on doing that, just say it.
what about s 301 redirect? will work better that mapping? or just different? i just need the simplest solution for this problem.
Thanks!!

Ah, gotcha.
So you’re trying to redirect your WordPress.com blog over to your new self-hosted blog, themulticulturalmom.com. I thought you were doing the opposite since you purchased the mapping subscription – pointing your domain hosted elsewhere over to WordPress.com.
what about s 301 redirect? will work better that mapping? or just different?
Correct. You do not need mapping from our account, but rather a site redirect upgrade:
Site rediretion is search engine friendly, so you’ll see little drop in your rankings, if any.
Read our support page in regards to how everything works:
In order for the Site Redirect to work correctly, the permalinks on the new site (the one you’re redirecting to) should match those at WordPress.com. WordPress.com uses the following permalink structure:
I removed the mapping subscription from your account, but rather than issuing you a refund, I added credits to your account, since both mapping and site redirect upgrades are the same price – also, you do not want to slow the process down by waiting 7-10 business days to receive the refund.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

I did the redirection but It wont work because I don’t have the same permalink. The reason why I don’t like the structure with year/month/day is because it’s to complicated and I’m aming for simpler links so people may remember the actual link to the liked post. I will try to create folders to match the structure and move those 3 post there but for now. i think that I’m good with the solution so far.
Thanks a bunch!!
