I need to free up a username

Hi everybody,
My username is redkershaw. I needed to make a blog called taneycountydelegates2012, so I did. I then realized that that blog would need its own account with the same username. So, I tried to sign up with the username taneycountydelegates2012. WordPress is telling me that that username is not available. Now, I know that an account of that name does not yet exist, but apparently creating a blog with that name, even if it is under my redkershaw username, has made the taneycountydelegates2012 username unavailable.
What can I do to make it available?

Username accounts are not deleted here at WordPress.com. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/ When we register a username account the matching blog is “reserved” for our later use and we have to contact Staff to obtain it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
I searched for you and this is what Staf (maxmanx) has said in another thread:
Blog names are the same as usernames for the most part. Usernames can be turned into blog names, but blog names cannot be turned into usernames. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cant-change-username-because-i-use-same-display-name?replies=5#post-694997
