I need to get FTP access.

  I’m currently on the 14 day trial of WP Premium, can I cancel the trial and upgrade, and will this enable FTP access so I can then add plugins?

  Hi Nick,

  Please note that there is no FTP access on WordPress.com, and it is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress blogs. If you are wondering how WordPress.com differs from WordPress.org, this support article explains the distinction:

  WordPress.com has a lot of built-in features that were inspired by popular plugins. Chances are, the feature you are looking for is already there! You can search our support site via this link:

  Hi, thanks so much for your response. I wanted to set up google analytics for it through a plugin.

  I will try and install wordpress.org but I;m struggling as I don’t have the database connection details as my blog is currently just wordpress.com hosted.

  I see! So if you move to WordPress.org you will need to find your own host. This guide will step you through the process of moving your site to a WordPress.org instance:

  As we only support sites hosted here at WordPress.com, all issues with the new site – including the importing of the file – must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:
