I need to make a contents list on a page using the titles of my posts

    I have tried to cut and paste from my list of posts on to a contents page, with no luck. I need fairly explicit help as I am not used to manipulating my blog. I have 52 stories(educational, mostly for primary school children)to list along with their description. Just typing out the titles will not work as I need proper links to each story. Any help please? Thank you so much.

    I have such a page at my blog, named “Table of Contents,” so you’ll easily find it. Just go there, use the “View Page Source” option on your browser, and copy all you want. It’s basically just a list of topics, with links placed chronologically under the topic where they belong. As an extra navigational touch, the topics listed at the beginning are “internal links” that take you to each topic lower in the page. It’s a lot to copy, but you’ll just need one or two of the topics from the top, and then a couple of examples from the lower section. You should be able to figure out how it works.

    Dear Curmudgeon,

    Thanks for trying to help. I viewed ‘page source’ and got what to me was an undecipherable lot of HTML codes etc. I am not capable of using that. I haven’t a clue what to do with it. I imagine there is a straight forward way of copying and pasting links from one page to another to create my contents list.

    Any other ideas… anyone??

    There is no other way to do this other than by hand. You will have to type out the titles (or copy/paste them) and then add the links to the typed text one by one. I’m not seeing quite what you mean by another way to copy/paste links. You can go to the Manage Pages page and copy the links from there (make sure to get the actual link to the post, not the link to EDIT teh post).

    @yogastories: You can simply drag&drop post titles from your main blog page to the visual page editor. (And I told you that two weeks ago.)
