I need to migrate control of my domain, or add custom features

  Hi. I recently bought my domain through wordpress, I need to add an ebook store and custom design to my site, but I don’t seem to be able to do this.

  Is there any way to install a new site over the domain that I own? Ideally, I would like not to have to mess around with this, but I need to be able to add widgets and upload new designs, which I assumed would be unlocked with registering the domain.

  Am I correct in assuming that wordpress’ hosting does not include full access to the domain, but is mediated through the wordpress blog and cannot be changed outside of the existing system?
  Do I need to take the DNS details and register through another hosting provider if I want full control of the domain, or is there a way for me to upload my own wordpress site build? I will be using a theme from Elegant Themes, as well as a range of commerce plugins.

  For the level of control you would like over your blog, you’ll want to move to a self-hosted site. You are correct that WordPress.com-hosted blogs don’t allow for the upload of third-party themes or e-stores.
