I need to move my subscribers to my newly hosted blog?
-
Is it possible for me to migrate my subscribers to an externally hosted wordpress account? I migrated to wp-engine and need to bring over my subscribers? I’ve installed jetpack and I can’t find a way to migrate my subscribers.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Download and install the JetPack plugin on your self hosted WordPress account. A WordPress.com staff member will have to help you transfer your WordPress.com email subscribers from your old site to the new one.
You can also see the bottom of this documentation, for further information on transferring your followers from one site to another.

Cool , I installed Jetpack so now I guess I just have to wait for the good folks at WordPress.

You also need to specify which blog you want transferred.

HI againercfi,
I can see your self-hosted blog is now connected to Jetpack. Can you confirm which of your WordPress.com blogs has the subscribers you wish to migrate to your new site?

Hi againercfi,
Your WordPress.com subscribers and email followers have been transferred as requested.
Please note that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they’ll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.
You might think about setting up a Site Redirect for your WordPress.com site at childfundinternational.wordpress.com to send your site visitors to your new domain. Otherwise, people will still be able to subscribe on your old site.

@jackiedana, that info on subscribers by email is very good to know. Any chance that bit can be added to the Support docs on moving to WordPress.org?

Jackie,
I see we have set blog.childfund.org as the primary domain. We’ve already implemented a redirect on this domain to our newly hosted blog. It looks like our email subscriber list got transferred over. Though when I look in the store view it says that ti’s still mapped to wordpress.com though when visited in the browser I can see that it is redirecting to our privately hosted site.
childfundinternational.wordpress.com will redirect to blog.childfund.org
So, I’m assuming this means any users who have subscribed by email or who “follow” through their wordpress accounts will still be able to receive their updates and get notifications of new posts from our newly hosted site?

@ againercfi, it looks like everything is good to redirect your visitors, and your primary domain is set properly. Assuming everything is correct with your subscription set-up on your new site, it should all work just fine!
@justjennifer, that’s a good idea, and I’ll add it to my list. :)
