I need to remove the original administrator of a blog
-
Our blog (themetaworker.wordpress.com) was originally founded by Nicole Mormann, who is now no longer with us. We’d really like to be able to remove her, but whenever we try, it just tells us we don’t have permission. Is there a way to remove the original founder of a blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry, for some reason it said that I needed help with matthewmaichen.wordpress.com as my signature. I need help with themetaworker.wordpress.com

you can’t delete the owner of a blog – the owner needs to transfer the blog to another account – that will remove them from the blog at the same time

Hi, @auxclass is right. If the old owner is willing to work with you, they can transfer ownership using these steps:

*deep angry breath at the way the site is designed, not at the helpful people who answered*
Thanks, guys.

if it was not that way – anyone could take your blog away from you that was an Admin on it – how would you change it??
Any Admin could delete the owner? Not very secure seems to me

keeps the chaos at bay :)
I would have said “sort of” :)
I do have sympathy for sites where the person that set up the site has left and the people left did not think to get the passwords and transfer the blog to a long lasting email address – tough no matter what is done – – and the suggestion to get a court order from a U.S. court requiring the account / site to be transferred does not go over very well
not sure what the answer is since the only secure system is to have one owner – then there are the cases where the site owner left a company or something on other than good terms and took the login info with them –
