Hi there,
Are you able to access the email address of the account that the site is under? If so, you would be able to edit the payment portion of the account. However, if not, we would need the help of the WordPress staff to assist you.
When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then we subscribe to this thread so we are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.
Hopefully someone will be in touch shortly.
Best,

It’s important to know that companies, organizations, and groups of any kind do not own blogs. It’s likewise important to know that sharing login information is unsupported and discouraged.Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
Clicking this link should display all blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf the log-in information is lost visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
The blog’s owner must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased upgrades to renew them or to update credit card information, or to transfer the blogs and the upgrades to another username account.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-credit-card-details/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#transferring-upgradesYou will have to contact the site’s actual owner and have them renew or transfer the site to your username account.

Without getting into sharing a long story I have been here for nearly 10 years. Doing tag searches for answers makes sense and because I’m the blogger who is a chronic thread tagger my answers are readily found. However, I have been impersonated by another blogger in the past who copied and pasted my answers into inappropriate and irrelevant threads. They all ended up in spam and inconvenienced those waiting for answers. I was blocked from logging in on both username accounts and had to create a third one to contact Staff. Then they had to help me regain access to my accounts and sites, fish out all comments from Akismet, and then fix all the threads. Bottom line: Create your own answers or backlink to correct answers in recent threads please so this does not happen again. :) -
Thanks everyone it is sorted now. We have managed to work out who registered it in first place many years ago.

@cafodevc great news!
And a big thanks to @timethief – I respectfully appreciate the extra info. We don’t want anything like that happening again! I do see that you’re an active poster on the forum and that your contributions are extremely valuable. Looking forward to reading some of your answers and learning from you :)

Welcome aboard and best wishes. :) I don’t know if you have read this or not so here’s the link https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-com-volunteers/My advice is:
1. Be sure you are crystal clear on the difference between wordpress.COM hosted sites and WordPress.ORG installs. Know that we provide support only for sites that are hosted here. We do not provide support for wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
2. Confirm the URL referred to first and verify where the site is hosted. Do not post any answer until you have done that.
3. Use tag search, support docs search and Google search to locate the most recent correct answers to the question(s).
4. Do not just tag threads you cannot locate answers for with modlook. If you cannot locate an answer by searching then leave the thread be and an experienced Volunteer or Staff will address it.

It looks like this is resolved. Just drop a note if I missed something and you still need help.
@timethief – Fixed your numbering! :)
