i need to resolve the great between followers on wp & mailchimp!
-
i got an upgrade to get email help, but i didnt get it. i have a difference between ‘followers’ on wp of 29, mailchimp says i have 249. i need to resole this!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Yes that is correct. The followers that are reported on WordPress.com—either through your stats page or on the widget—are a total of your WordPress.com followers, Facebook friends/fans, and Twitter followers (if you have connected your FB and Twitter accounts to your WordPress.com blog).
MailChimp counts aren’t included. I am not aware of what contributes to MailChimp’s numbers.
Also, I am closing your duplicate support threads. Please only one post per query, thanks.

‘replying’ is VERY difficult! is there a more direct route? when i press ‘reply’ on your email, it wont let me reply! i have a friend with a wordpress blog that used mailchimp to notify ‘followers’ via email of new posts. i thought i’d do the same, i directed folks to the widget. but its not working & i have the great variabilty! this has nothing to do with fb or twitter. how can i resolve this problem? & how could i add my fb ‘friends’? thx, roma

Hi Roma,
‘replying’ is VERY difficult! is there a more direct route? when i press ‘reply’ on your email, it wont let me reply!
The email you are receiving is a notification to let you know that you have a response to your support thread here. It is only meant as a reminder to come back here, so it is not possible to use email to respond.

We do not support an official connection with Mailchimp here at WordPress.com, so it is likely that your friend has a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site. It is possible to use a Mailchimp plugin with a self-hosted WordPress site, but we do not allow plugins here.
If you are at all interested in using self-hosted WordPress site, this guide will step you through the process of moving your blog to a WordPress.org instance:

If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com blog to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if it’s right for you:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
You may also want to consider using the RSS method to send your blog posts to your mailchimp followers, as outlined here: http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/what-is-an-rss-to-email-campaign-and-how-to-i-set-one-up/
If you decide to go that route, your feed address is http://romajean.wordpress.com/feed
Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

if i do a self-guided transfer will my blog be ‘as is’, need no re-design?
& will the mailchimp ‘subscribers/followers’ be applied direct?(meaning:not require another request from me?
& can the 99$ i spent for the upgrade at .com be applied to the 149$ for .org? -

No, you will need to set up your theme and widgets again. Your theme is an older one, but available for download still, so it should not be much of an issue. The widgets you could also copy without much effort as well. The dashboard of a self-hosted site is much like the one here, so you will feel at home.

As I said, we do not support an official connection with Mailchimp, so we have no way to move those. However, Mailchimp does offer a plugin that let’s you connect your self-hosted site to their service to accomplish that.

You are outside of your 30 day refund period, so that will not be possible I am afraid.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

No, you can import your pages/posts, comments, tags/categories, and media with no trouble (.com to .org)
You would just need to pick a theme, widgets, and customize things to your liking.

my isaues are unresolved. it sounds like i might lose too much switching to .org.
how would i find out the names or email addresses of the followers wordpress says i have? -
Hi there,
You can view all of your blog’s WordPress.com and email followers on your My Stats page. Your followers are listed in the “Totals, Followers, and Shares” box on that page. You can click on the “Blog” link to see more details about them.
We have more information about that here: My Followers – Follower stats
Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this.
