I need to retain my domain name and move to another host.

  just bought domain name from someone else and signed up on wordpress.com although I thought I did not complete registration and wanted to do more research. Then read that I could not blog for profit on that site and tried to cancel and was told I would lose my much brainstormed Domain name ! Help !

  All wordpress.com blogs are on sub-domains like http://cheepchicksnest.wordpress.com/ because wordpress.com is the top level domain here.

  I do not see the URL of a custom domain up there in the post you started this thread with.

  Assuming you did purchase a domain mapping upgrade from wordpress.com then see here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

  If you are referring to http://creativelyjeanius.com/ then know that site is not hosted by wordpress.com and we do not provide support for it. There is no domain mapping upgrade for creativelyjeanius.com.

  uh….confused now. creativelyjeanius is or was not supposed to be my domain name. I did not purchase anything at wordpress. I came to wprdpress owning cheepchicksnest.com.

  any other suggestions?
