    We already have a website and an Internet Service Provider–Purehost. We are trying to use WordPress to update our website. I need to know about how you assist with the transfer back to our Internet Service Provider and keeping our current domain name and URL. Please contact me or provide me with a phone number where I can talk with someone to get answers to my questions. Our website address is: http://www.eccssa.org.

    I’m afraid I’m not sure what you’re speaking of here.

    Are you trying to use the open source WordPress software at your current hosting provider? Or do you want to migrate your site to our hosting here on WordPress.com, i.e. away from your current host?

    If you want to use the open source WordPress software, contact your hosting provider’s support directly to ask if they can assist with installing that. You can also ask the WordPress.org community, who makes that software, for advice at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    If you’d like to migrate your site to our hosting here on WordPress.com, you’ll need a free WordPress.com site (like eccssa.wordpress.com which you’ve already created), and you’ll need a paid plan to connect your own domain.

    Either way, when it comes to migrating your content to the new site, the only way to do that will be to manually copy-paste every page of content into a new post or page on the WordPress site – it’s not possible to automatically migrate content from a static HTML site like yours to a CMS like WordPress.

    If you have any other questions about this, please let us know in a reply to this thread – we don’t provide phone support on WordPress.com so there’s no number you can call. And support for the open source WordPress software is provided by the members of the WordPress community who make that software. WordPress is free software, made by a community of unpaid volunteers, so there’s no paid support staff at all for that software, so there’s also no number you can call for help with that version.
