I need to transfer a domain to wordpress from another vendor

  I have a blog the Domain is registered at another vendor. Here’s the info:

  I need to move the domain from the old Brinkster account to WordPress so I can just pay them to keep the domain up and running.

  I got an e-mail from Brinkster with the domain name and an ‘authorization code’ to move the domain from them to Wordpess, but I don’t have any idea how to do this… Can someone help?

  Although STPETEWOODGUILD.COM has been registered, it is not using WordPress.com nameservers. If you wish to host your site at WordPress.com, you will need to update your nameservers as outlined below. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domain

  OK, I got that… but, I keep getting a message that says I have to update my DNS… And, I get a screen with a box that I’m supposed to put some kind of code into… Every example WordPress shows – when I try to format – tells me I have done it wrong… :-/

  To add a little more fun to this… the current domain name expires on 5/19.. I have to get this done before then in order to keep the guild’s site open.

  We’re just a bunch of woodworkers… electrons are not our strong suit!

  I’m sorry, but we cannot accept incoming domain transfers. We can only offer domain mapping following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  So, this means that I can’t have you guys host the stpetewoodguild.com domain? If not, is there any way to determine who is hosting, so I can update the registration fees?

  You can map your domain name to your blog here – follow the instructions staff-blorbo gave you above – you just can’t move the domain name registration here. You will need to buy domain mapping and point the name servers (done at your Registrar) to WordPress.COM

  The blog linked to my name is mapped here but the registration is through my old host as is my email
