  i need to transfer my domain to wordpress from somewhere else. I was given all of the necessary transfer info from that hosting site already. Now what?

  You can’t transfer a domain name into WP.com. You have to keep the management elsewhere, but you can use domain mapping to connect it to your site here. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
