I need to undo some updates and changes I made to my site

    I changed the theme by mistake and my whole site is messed up. I never published it or puched the update button. I want to go back to a version from around 5:00 today. my whole site is ruined. is there a way to UNDO what I did? I was updating some plugins etc.

    Hi there,

    On what site are you working? The account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com.

    If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another host, support for that is provided by the WordPress.org community at https://wordpress.org/support/forums.

    But the only way to undo changes like this is by restoring a backup of your site. If you’re using a backup plugin, follow their steps to restore a backup, or if your hosting provider offers backups included in your hosting plan, their support should be able to help you with this.

    But if you’re not keeping any backups at all for your site, then I’m afraid you’re out of luck, as in that case there won’t be anything to restore. In that case, post in the WordPress.org forums explaining the exact steps you did that lead to the current situation, and also any errors you’re seeing, and they should be able to guide you through how to fix this.
