I need WordPress to please separate my blogs

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

    I stupidly created a secondary blog but its attached to my primary blog (karenwilson.wordpress.com)

    I want to separate these:

    karenwilson.wordpress.com

    and;

    marenwilson.wordpress.com

    I don’t want them linked, they both have a email address (wordpress help please contact me about those addresses). I don’t want them sharing an email address and I don’t want them sharing an avatar etc.

    I should’ve logged out and created marenwilson.wordpress.com like a new blog but I thought it’d be simple to separate these things but now I find that its not possible and will need someone @ wordpress to sort this out for me.

    I’m sorry for the hassle. Its not urgent but if someone can separate these accounts for me within the next 7-10 days I’d appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Karen

    You’ll need to contact staff about that. Use the support button at the top of the forum.

    You can do that yourself by getting another account here (using a different email address) and then transfer ownership of one of the blogs to that new account as outlined in this support document: http://support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/

    Oooohhh, I just read that document and see things have changed drastically. Forget what I said and follow Rosclarke’s advice (which is outlined in the support document in the link I provided.

    TSP, I think what the OP wants to do is outlined in the second part of that support page, which begins ‘contact staff’.

    You can transfer content of a blog to another one owned by the same user yourself. You can’t transfer ownership to another account (with a different email) without intervention of staff. I think they changed this after all the CP drama.

    Yeah I knew that they had made it so that if you put someone else on a blog as an administrator they could not delete the original owner of the blog, but I didn’t know they had even gone further. And yes, I agre the flightless waterfowl are likely the reason.
