I never used this account

    I have another account I’ve used for years that I want to keep but I need to change the email for it to this one. I opened this account last Jan. thinking I was going to do a woo commerce but never did. Can I close this account and then change my email address in my other account?

    Hi there, in order to use this WordPress.com account’s email address on your other WordPress.com account, you’ll need to change this account’s email address first. If you simply delete this account, the email address will be locked for 30 days until the account itself is fully deleted and can’t be recovered.

    If by chance you are using gmail, there’s a trick you might try, which is adding an extension to the first part of your email address. So instead of myemail AT gmail DOT com you’d use myemail+something AT gmail DOT com All email will still go to the same email account, but WordPress.com treats this as a separate email address.

    Another possibility if you are using the duckduckgo browser extension is to create a single-use duck email address.

    So change the email address on this account as above and confirm it. Then change your email on the other WordPress.com account to this one and again confirm it. Once you do that you should be able to delete this WordPress.com account.
