I only received a partial refund!

    I received $73 rather than the $99 I should have received. The purchase was made within 24 hours. Please respond with the remaining refund of $26.00

    Hi I purchased a premium plan today and asked for a refund a few hours later due to the package not being really what i wanted. I have just noticed that i have only received a partial refund. My business name is Quays Clinic of Hypnotherapy. The order was for hypnotherapynewcastle.com.

    Thank you for your quick response.

    I do like the service which WordPress.com offers but could you please give me an explanation as to why i only received a partial refund in the fist place.

    I am sure that other people would be interested as to why they don’t receive a full refund when they are well within the time limit as per their consumer rights.

    Sure! When you go to your Manages Purchases page, you’ll notice that the Premium Plan and the Mapping Upgrade are separated. When you went to cancel and receive a refund for the Premium Plan, you should’ve seen this message:

    This plan includes the custom domain mapping for [domain]. The domain will not be removed along with the plan, to avoid any interruptions for your visitors.

    However, if you want to delete the mapping upgrade, you can do so under manage purchases as well. You just have to cancel them separately.

    The original poster’s issue was slightly different than yours. Our refund policy states that you have 48 hours to receive a refund for domain registrations and 30 days to receive a refund for all other upgrades.

    They requested a refund for the premium plan after the 48 hour deadline but before the 30 day deadline. So, we refunded them the upgrade minus the domain registration ($73). However, we want our users to be happy, so we issued the full refund when they requested it. Granted, we cannot always guarantee that we are able to do that, but when we can, we definitely try!
