I Only Want Subpages in Navigation Menu!

    Hi all,

First post – happy to be here and great work WP!

I recently transfered (page by page) my blog and pages from my university offerd WordPress blogsite personal pages to:

    Ultimate Computer

as my page diversified to a general interest site, instead of an academically related one.

In any case, I have several pages with their own subpages, written in a manual/how-to format, if you care to see from my site. What I want is for the Navigation menu to dislpay only the subpages of the page I am currently on – and not ALL the pages on the site.

I tried removing the current naviation widget, but that makes it impossible to access the rest of the subpages in the topic (everything dissapears from the right).

My previous university run WordPress blog has the feature Im describing, which works just fine: If you care to see here:

    http://homepages.baylor.edu/andreas_tziolas/ultimate-computer/

Can anyone help me recover the bahavior I had on my previous blog?

    Thank you

PS: And if anyone can help me with suggestions on how to recover the color scheme I had before I’d appreciate that also: Red instead of Lime background on page selection AND Red instead of Orange Text when a page selection is made. I know this is done through the CSS, but is there a way I can copy the .CSS from my old page and add it to the new? — Thanks

PS2: Also have many problems getting the page order to display properly. I gave all pages a number for ordering, but they still display alphabetically… thats why I had to resort to the ugly A….B…C and 1.1….1.2 numbering — please help!

Thank You!!!! // Sorry for long post

One quick response: you can use custom CSS, but you have to pay extra for it. I think it’s under Design tab.

    Thank you James.

I found how to list the pages by ID number. There is a drop down option box in the menu where I added the widget for page navigation. I got that out of the way *guess I’ll remove all of the numerals from the page titles now.

I still think that the page looks way to busy though, having all of the pages on the site listed together. It should be more topic related, so that when you click on a subject page link at the top of the site, you get the related links only. It worked so well in the previous version I had (first link)…

    I’d appreciate any help – …

I see that blog is WP MU. You can probably find more in-the-know people at:

Thanks ellaella. I shamelessly replicated my post there too.. Hope this is something doable, cuz the current look of the page is just awful.

Anyone with that kind of problem, or a suggestion about organizing my subpages would be really appreciated. (I have 4 more pages to add, with their own subpages).

I would like to do the same but I think it is not possible with the current page widget at this time.
