I opened acct wordpress. com but i need wordpress.org

    Will closing this wordpress. com acct. allow me to open wordpress.org without a hitch?

    They are two different places. You can create a WordPress.org account if you wish to post into those forums:
    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
    If you haven’t already and you want to create a site that uses the WordPress.org software you’ll need to approach some other host.
    PS: You can close this account if you wish but sometimes having a WordPress.com account as well as a site hosted elsewhere using the WordPress.org software can be useful for access to the JetPack plugin.
