I own the domain. I don’t understand what I’m being asked to do regarding transferring or ‘mapping’ my domain .

    I’m trying to set up a site. I have been trying for 2 months. I’ve already paid for a 3 year ‘shared’ hosting plan at Host Gator. I don’t know what I’m being asked to do between ‘transferring’ or ‘Mapping’ my domain. IAs a result I can’t get passed that screen. Please help. I don’t want to be paying twice. Thanks, Maura

    Hey there,

    What is the URL for the domain associated with your website? Are you at all aware of where this domain in currently registered?

    In brief, ‘Transferring’ would be in reference to transferring a domain to a different registrar (most often individuals would like to transfer their domains to where their website is currently hosted so they are situated together) and ‘Mapping’ would be in reference to pointing your current domain to a different website hosted elsewhere from where your domain is registered. Are you wanting to perform either of these tasks?
