I am not seeing any ads when I view your site as a visitor. Can you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing?
Here are some screenshot instructions if you are not familiar with the process:
I find http://snag.gy/ to be very useful for sharing screenshots.

Hello,
Have you received my email reply with the screen shot? I replied as an email reply rather than clicking the reply box in your communication to me. Please let me know if I need to resend it to you.
Thank you,
Diane -
The easiest way to post a screenshot would be to use http://snag.gy/ .
Or, you could upload it to your blog’s media library. I will be able to see it there.

I’ve uploaded the screen shot to my media library. The bottom also has a running ad, but not as distracting as these across the top of my page.
Thank you for your help.

So I have good news and bad news. The good news is that your No Ads upgrade is functioning as it should be. the bad news is that there is malware on your computer that is causing those ads to appear.
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:

Just to clarify, the reason that I am able to be sure that those ads are not from us is the little “ads not by this site” text. If you google “ads not by this site” you will see what I mean. It is a pretty common malware infestation.

Thank you very much for your information. At least now I know where our problem comes from – our computer. Now I wonder if I really needed the no ad purchase since I don’t know what the WordPress ads look like. Is there a way you could show me an example of what those are? Now I’m curious about that.
Thanks again,
Diane -
There should be an ad at the bottom of this page:
You will need to be logged out of WordPress.com (or using a private/icognito window) in order to see it.
