I paid for a domain with go daddy. Go Daddy uses your platform for website creation. I would like to use the WordPress platform to create my web page. It says I have to pay a transfer fee for the domain. Why?
-
Why? If you want to move from GoDaddy over to WordPress.com here then you’ll need a paid plan to map the domain. If you want to build a site over at GoDaddy then you’ll need to reach out to them for advice on installing the wordpress software there:

Hi there,
GoDaddy does not use our platform.
You are posting in the support forums for WordPress.com, a hosting provider, same as GoDaddy. Both of us offer hosting for the open source WordPress software.
If you’re using WordPress at GoDaddy, it means you’re using that software, and your site has nothing at all to do with WordPress.com. You can find help with that software from the community at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
You only need to pay to transfer the domain to us if you want to host your site on WordPress.com instead of at GoDaddy.
