I paid for a domain without WordPress in it

  I paid $12 for a domain name and saw that the name WordPress was in it I did not know that was the case so I canceled it and now I can’t get it back on another site or this site I’m very confused on how this works please help me ASAP

  If you want to use your custom domain on the wordpress.com platform, you need a paid plan – https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Cancelling a custom domain when you want to use it elsewhere, isn’t a good idea as it gets blocked. You must wait for a Staff member to untangle this situation.

  Correct! You need a paid plan to have the custom domain your primary domain. Any paid plan will work.

  Regarding the domain you did purchase. You have now canceled it. If you cancel the domain, you may lose access to it forever, so please let us know if you wish us to uncancel this (we can send a payment request again and reinstate the domain).

  After that, you can purchase a plan and use the domain.

  If you purchase one of our annual plans, you get the domain free for the first year! You can upgrade via Upgrades → Plans.
