I paid WordPress, so why is there a box saying an ad might appear here?

  I paid WordPress to have my website. Why is there some box that shows up saying an ad might appear in this box? I paid for it so I don’t have to have ads on my site.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Thanks for the reply, though it’s not the happiest news when one is trying to establish an online presence and look professional (why I don’t want ads!) on a shoestring budget – paying an extra $30 per year over the website yearly fee just to not have ads seems a bit steep.

  Is there a way to select what ads I would not mind having on my sites at least? I hope so.
