  I posted a welcoming message as a page. The draft is 150 words and one photo. When I previw it all is well. When I posted it only pat of the text is shown and the photo is gone. What do I have to do to get a post of the page to show in a compete form, just like the preview?

  Those are features of the Coherent theme you’re using. I suggest trying a different theme: https://theme.wordpress.com/
