I Provide downloads on my site – is WP as a CMS good for it?

Hey guys,
I am trying to build a website that would provide .zip extension files to let users download them. So, should I continue to create a website that only provides downloads using WordPress or I better hire developers and get a custom website?
The website is going to host user accounts, allow them to add files for download, manage their downloads. A community and a blog.
I am writing here to get good suggestions since I don’t want to download any download manager or plugin because they don’t serve my purpose.
Currently I am doing it through custom post types and upload forms but I have certains constrains like I cannot track and show how many times the file was downloaded and such stats on site…I don’t even know what are the limits.
A professional response would help alot.

That’s the site i am currently building. I want it to look exactly the way it looks. But i want a professional system to make it a downloads providing files that wohld include download stats a button and etc instead of making it look like a ‘post’

It looks like your site is using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but is hosted with another webhost. (In your case, this is Bluehost)

I only asked for a ‘SUGGESTION’ regarding WordPress as a CMS. Do hell with your .com or .org…. the only question was is WordPress better for the kind of website I am looking for or not and you failed to respond to that simple question and want me to first shift to your godd*n .com. (Claps)
I would have shifted towards your shi*ty .com service if you better showed a gesture of support by responding to my query in a polite manner while telling me the perks for transferring to your sh*ty .com.
anyways! in my case its bluehost but their customer support comes forward and helps even about things not under their domain while I am using the goddamn WordPress let it be .com or .org and I believe its owned under one entity.
